SYNCing to Empower Black Women in HIV Prevention: Health Departments and HBCUs

Power of Prevention

This session is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of HIV prevention for Black women—from both a Health Department and HBCU perspective, emphasizing the need for culturally competent, multimodal strategies that are feasible and scalable. Participants will gain insight into practical approaches for reducing HIV and STI risk among one of the most vulnerable populations in the U.S.

HIV PrEP Navigation Certification (HIVPNC) Institute

Power of PreventionHealthHIV's HIV PrEP Navigation Certification (HIVPNC) Program is the only certification program offered to providers and allied health professionals focused on preparing providers to guide community members in their use of PrEP over time.

Unveiling HIV: Challenging Assumptions on Molecular Surveillance and Criminalization

Experts will ground attendees in an understanding of HIV criminalization as well as the efforts that attendees can join for modernizing HIV criminalization laws and eradicating HIV related stigma. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about MHS and why PLHIV and advocates are so concerned with a program whose ostensible purpose is the promotion of public health. Finally, panelists will educate attendees on the interrelationship between different forms of surveillance, focusing on different ways in which reproductive autonomy is targeted as a case study.

Mobilizing Towards PrEP Access For All

Power of PreventionHosted by PrEP4All, this Institute will focus on several ways that participants can immediately engage in the movement for equitable PrEP access.
