Latonia Wilkins

Latonia Wilkins is a dedicated advocate for empowering individuals and advancing health equity in the battle against HIV.

With a track record of exemplary accomplishments and initiatives, she has established herself as a leader in the field. Voted Advocate of the Year 2023 at the esteemed World AIDS Day Awards ceremony, Latonia's impact and influence are widely recognized, underscoring the significance of her contributions. Her expertise and commitment were further highlighted through her participation as a panelist at the Women Who PrEP Summit 2021, where she showcased her deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by women in HIV prevention efforts. In 2023, Latonia took proactive steps to create spaces for dialogue and community empowerment by founding Black Women's Health Equity focus groups and meetings. Through her active engagement with marginalized communities, she ensures that voices are heard and needs are addressed, exemplifying her dedication to inclusivity and representation.

Latonia's involvement in the Melanated Women's Empowerment group, where she serves as both a member and a black women's sexual health educator, further demonstrates her multifaceted contributions to promoting holistic well-being and empowerment. She bridges gaps in access to prevention resources such as HIV self-test kits and knowledge about PrEP/PEP, addressing crucial needs within underserved communities. Her passion for fostering inclusive and supportive environments is palpable in her efforts to empower communities to effectively utilize their voices. Through her advocacy work and educational initiatives, Latonia not only raises awareness about HIV prevention and health equity but also encourages individuals to take ownership of their health and make informed choices. Overall, Latonia Wilkins' advocacy efforts extend far beyond being just a PrEP advocate; she is a trailblazer, a leader, and a catalyst for positive change in the fight against HIV and for the empowerment of marginalized communities. Her unwavering dedication serves as an inspiration to all those striving for a more equitable and just society.
