Brooke Parker serves as the Community Linkage to Care Coordinator for the Ryan White Program at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV.
The clinic serves 19 counties in southern WV and is also the central point of care for the IV drug use-related HIV outbreak in Kanawha County, named the "most concerning outbreak related to IV drug use in the US" in 2021 by the CDC. Brooke started working in grassroots harm reduction and policy advocacy in 2002, serves as the Board of Directors Vice President for SOAR-WV, WV's largest grassroots harm reduction group, and is also a person in long term recovery. Brooke has worked with people who use drugs since 2002 in various capacities, and she has over 20 years' experience working in the social work field. She received her BA degree in 2010 from Shepherd University, and her MSW degree in 2018 from University of New England.
