Bonnie Harris is the Program Manager for Health Promotion and Care Navigation Initiatives in the Community Health and Family Medicine department at Howard University, College of Medicine located in Washington, DC.
The CFM Department operates a clinical practice, a residency program, and administers various grant funded projects focused on understanding health patterns, and community needs at a population level. The Department’s work is engaged in health promotion, disease prevention, and community education in the greater Washington, DC area.
In this role, Ms. Harris oversees projects and programming designed to strengthen an individual’s health literacy, utilization of primary care and equitable access to resources. Currently, she manages an HIV recruitment strategy project focused on linking individuals to testing, treatment and supportive resources. Previous projects include Covid-19 Navigational Activities and the Care Transformation initiative for reproductive-age women at risk of chronic illness – many of whom were the head of households of low-wealth families.
Bonnie is a graduate of Howard University and currently lives in the District of Columbia, the city where she grew up.
