Stephanie Ajuzie, MD, MPH is a CDC Preventive Medicine Resident.

Stephanie Ajuzie graduated from St. Louis University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and International Studies. After volunteering in the Federated States of Micronesia from 2008-2011, she decided to pursue a career in public health. She commissioned with the US Navy in 2014 and attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine, earning her MD in 2017. She served as a Naval Flight Surgeon from 2018-2022. She transferred to the US Public Health Service in 2022 and is currently participating in the CDC’s Preventive Medicine Residency program. She recently completed her Master of Public Health (MPH) at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) in June of 2023. This past year she has been working in the Office of the Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services at the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and performing clinical work, specifically focused on sexual health, at the DC Health and Wellness Center. Her main achievement of the past year was the creation of the MDH Public Health Services revised strategic plan. She is interested in health disparities, infectious disease, global health, emergency preparedness and response, cancer prevention, women’s health, and breastfeeding outcomes. After completion of her residency, she will be transitioning to the FDA, in the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, Office of Biostatistics and Pharmacovigilance, Division of Pharmacovigilance.
