Sarah Kangas is a primary care family nurse practitioner in Berkshire County, a rural county in Western Massachusetts.
In addition to her work in primary care, she provides telehealth Hepatitis C treatment via video visits to the local Harm Reduction Clinics/Syringe Service programs. This service provides needed hepatitis C treatment with fewer barriers to those who may not be ready or able to access primary care but need to receive this life saving treatment in the community. Sarah and her nurse practitioner colleague Jennifer Mygatt NP have also provided mentorship and training on hepatitis C to primary care providers and other community members. Sarah’s clinical interests include patient and health care provider education, LGBTQIA+ health, adolescent health, mental health, substance use disorders, and caring for the whole person across the lifespan.
Sarah received her Bachelors of Science and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Massachusetts.
