Joseph Daniels

September 16 @ 3:41 pm EDT

Joseph Daniels is an Associate Professor in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.

His research focuses on the development, implementation and evaluation of social and behavioral interventions that will address health disparities and foster thriving individuals and communities. Most of his work focuses on improving outcomes for HIV, TB and cancer treatment among sexual and gender minorities and cisgender men globally with current research in these areas with collaborators in South Africa and the U.S. Specifically, one aim of his research is to develop interventions that will harness resiliency by building individual and couple coping and communication skills. Another aim of his research is to design and assess the effectiveness of such interventions using different modalities like telehealth, eHealth and mHealth along with evaluating the usability and feasibility of point-of-care diagnostics in healthcare decision-making and patient-provider communication. Across these aims, health system strengthening and sustainability through training and mentoring are core elements to his work.
