Conversations on the Lived Experiences of Black Women with HIV
May 30 @ 10:30 am–11:00 am EDT
Live Podcast
Black women in the United States, and globally, are disproportionately affected by HIV. In multiple studies, Black women report feeling disrespected and dismissed when they do engage with healthcare providers. Additionally, the stigmas associated with HIV, race, and gender are interlinked and strongly influence decision making around engaging with treatment and preventative care. This podcast, a conversation between two Black women with more than a decade of HIV clinical care, beholds the experience of caring for Black women living with HIV and those who could benefit from PrEP – centering their lived experiences and strategies on how to better care for Black women.
