- Boots on the Ground: Mobile, Integrated Harm Reduction and Health Services
Access Support Network (ASN) is committed to serving the needs of our community, as expressed by participants themselves. In response to community input, we’ve developed systems of care that meet people where they are—geographically and otherwise. Our program began with outreach, testing and linkage to care for HIV and HCV. It has since expanded to three counties and includes mobile, street-based, low-barrier MOUD, syringe exchange, and wound care. The authors aim to share the successes and challenges of this model and explore how other communities could develop similar resources in their area. - Expanding Rural Access to Hepatitis C Treatment Utilizing Harm Reduction and Telehealth to Treat People Who Use Drugs
People with substance use disorder face many barriers to Hepatitis C treatment and this is increased in rural areas. We will discuss our successful program utilizing telehealth in Berkshire County, Massachusetts where we have some of the highest rates of Hepatitis C in our states. Through Berkshire Harm Reduction, our local syringe service provider, we have utilized a creative telehealth solution to bring treatment for hepatitis C where they are in the community, using a low barrier, simplified model. The presentation will also discuss potential ways to replicate this program in other rural areas. - Using Human-Centered Design to Develop a Mobile Health App to Holistically Improve HIV Care Outcomes for YBGBM
Amp is a mobile app co-created with young, Black gay and bisexual men living with HIV and HIV service providers, in order to holistically improve HIV care continuum outcomes. This presentation will describe the human-centered design process of developing the program, which has been shown to have high feasibility, acceptability, and likely uptake.
