- HIV in the COVID Era: PCP Capacity Building
With a global focus on COVID research and policy, HIV prevention efforts have gone underutilized—harming the racial, ethnic, sexual and genderminoritized patient populations disproportionately impacted by both pandemics the most. It is incumbent on primary care practitioners (PCPs) to acknowledge the macro issues at the root of these disparities. As such, our presentation will emphasize the need to equally promote HIV and PrEP/PEP screening alongside COVID vaccine screening and care among priority populations. Healthy People 2030 outlines national benchmarks to achieve health equity, eliminate health disparities and attain health literacy. - Prevention and Autonomy: Tools from the PrEP Clinic at CHOP
The Adolescent Initiative at CHOP provides HIV treatment and prevention services to youth aged 13-24. This presentation explores how offering interdisciplinary PrEP services that are holistic, client-driven, and developmentally appropriate helps to develop patients’ autonomy and prevention understanding. We aim to focus on the benefits of linking clinical and navigation services as well as the considerations that drive PrEP uptake and retention in this population. - Beyond Status: Serodiscordant Couples Thrive with TASP & PrEP
Love knows no bounds, but mixed HIV status adds hurdles. This workshop empowers couples to build a thriving future. We’ll tackle disclosure fears, communication, power dynamics, and healthcare systems. Through role-playing and practical tips, you’ll gain tools to conquer challenges, strengthen your bond, and access essential services. Leave equipped with knowledge, trust, and hope for a vibrant future together.
