Lexi Lopez is a twenty-four-year-old psychology undergraduate at Nevada State University and a proud mental health advocate. She works as a Linkage to Care Coordinator in Las Vegas and is a Nevada Certified Peer Support Specialist.
As a person in long-term recovery from debilitating mental illness, she works now to help others who struggle with substance use, mental illness, or other disorders with gaining access to vital resources and begin their own recovery. As a person who identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community, Lexi is also a huge advocate for equality and acceptance for those with sexuality and gender identities that are not the "status quo". In her work specifically, she helps individuals in this community who struggle with substance use issues as well as houselessness and inadequate access to food. For her educational studies, Lexi is just a few units away from a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling. She intends to further her education to obtain a Master's in Psychology, as well as licensure, to practice professional counseling in the next few years.
