Iris Sidikman (they/them) is a harm reductionist and MSW candidate originally from Madison, WI.
They currently hold degrees in music and gender studies and will be completing their Masters in Social Work through West Virginia University in August 2024. Already a vocal advocate for trans rights and fat liberation, Iris began an internship with local harm reduction group Solutions Oriented Addiction Response (SOAR WV) in 2022 and quickly fell in love with harm reduction while working in the community. To them, harm reduction is about bodily autonomy and the belief that everyone deserves respect, dignity and access to resources, no matter what they choose to do with their body. In their role as Harm Reduction Program Coordinator, they aim to break down stigma and help meet the need for harm reduction services in Charleston, WV. When they're not packing supplies or training people how to use naloxone, they can be found skating with Chemical Valley Roller Derby or walking their dog Lou around the neighborhood.
